Daily Rose and Thorn

Thorn: Luke tells me that he is sad that Simon no longer lives with us.

Rose: The conversation and event that occurs immediately afterwards.

Luke: "Mom I miss Simon. Can he live with us again?"

Me: Silence.

Luke: "Mom!"

Me: "At least we have Chuy. Go outside and play with him."

Luke walks outside only to come darting back in, "Mom, Chuy ran away! We left the gate open! Now I have no pets!"

Me: Hysterical laughter, while trying to feign enough concern to assure Luke that we will find Chuy.
