1. We took a tour of Northwest Medical Center today. Lucas came on the tour and seemed to enjoy it as much as any 4 year old could, and there were about 4 other 4 year olds on this tour. He learned that it is his job to make sure people wash their hands before they touch his baby brother. He also told the tour guide that his brother will not wear pants, though I am not sure why he came to this conclusion. The rooms are as nice as can be expected for their purpose; however, it is not exactly a place that I want to spend a lot of time.
2. I am not out of the gestational diabetes woods. I get to meet with the doctor again because two of my blood tests this time around were out of range, but one was only by 5 points. As a teacher, I would say that 5 points is no big deal, but everyone knows that teachers are smarter than doctors :). Duh, who taught the doctors everything they know! I guess my history of sucking at pregnancy is repeating itself, and yes "suck" is the best word for the situation.
3. We are slowly but surely accruing baby gear. My mother is very kindly buying us a new Pack N Play, and I intend to have the baby sleep in there this time around. I learned my co-sleeping lesson the first time around; however, it would be hard to not learn a lesson that you have been dealing with for the past 4 years :). Yes, the experience was great, but it was a bit like riding a roller coaster after eating chili fries; fun in theory but ultimately less than pleasant.
4. Lucas is officially enrolled in preschool; so my 5 a.m wait in the cold was not done in vain.
5. Swimming season has begun. I hope to enroll Luke in swimming lessons at the Y soon because as of now he swims with all the grace of deli meat.
