1. I signed Lucas up for a new preschool this morning. Finding a preschool that could compare to the Child Development Learning Lab at AWC seemed impossible. I have such a great love for the wonderful teachers that helped shape Luke's personality that the thought of finding a new school seemed almost adulterous! In any event, in the past month I had called a few schools and visited one. I liked what I saw, but of course the price of preschool education was tough to swallow. I expected to pay somewhere in the ball park of $500 +, which sounded ridiculous considering I have a degree in the very services for which I am expected to pay. It just sounded dumb, and I did not want to add another huge monthly bill after having paid off both of our vehicles. I decided that I would home school Luke, which I have begun doing, and leave it at that. For those people that ask, "But what about his socialization?" I say he can enjoy free or discounted socialization at the park or other sports activities! In any event, in the past week I had been told by two mothers at separate events about how wonderful St.Andrew's Preschool is. They both told me how fabulous the staff was and how great the price is. I googled them, spoke to the director and long story short I spent the wee hours of the morning waiting outside their front office for a ticket and a registration packet! Luke will start in August. He will attend 3 days a week for about 2 1/2 hours, which I think is perfect.
2. Luke went to the dentist. It was fabulous! He cried, he laughed and he burped when it was all done. The dentist commented on what a unique character Luke has. I just kept thinking, "And you haven't even watched him bull ride in his underwear and cowboy hat!"
3. We spent the weekend in some great snow. We made a snowman which had eyebrows, and a one point male anatomy thanks to Luke. It was hard to explain that snowmen do not need boy parts because if they were to pee they would melt, but I think he got the gist. Boys are weird.
4. Finally, I have been working on a new project that has me very excited. I will share more news when I get to a more comfortable place with my progress. And no, the project is not the baby! I couldn't hide that if I tried :)
